The City of Tulsa is seeking a skilled, experienced, and innovative leader to fill the position of Director of Planning. The new Director of Planning will lead a staff of 120 employees and oversee a Department budget of $8 million including the Divisions of Planning, Development Services, Permitting, Building Inspections, Grants Planning, and Economic Development and Real Estate Management. Bachelor’s degree in planning, zoning, community development, economic development, engineering, architecture, geography, public or business administration, or a closely related field is required. Master’s degree and AICP certification desired. The ideal candidate should have 9 years of progressively responsible planning experience including 5 years of policy development and supervisory/administrative experience.
