The GPCC’s programming encompasses three primary areas: business development (revitalization of the community’s retail corridors); wellness (management of the 30-member Garfield Park Garden Network and signature Neighborhood Market); and housing (housing stabilization and outreach to tenants, landlords, and homeowners in crisis).  The GPCC also has a strong resident organizing and advocacy initiative that is integrated into all its program areas.

Job Description

·       Develop and submit grant proposals seeking private and public-sector support for all GPCC programming
·       Maintain communication with current funders
·       Conduct prospect research on foundations and corporations to evaluate prospects for support
·       Maintain calendar of grant proposals and reporting due dates
·       Assist in production and distribution of promotional and development materials
·       Update the GPCC’s website and Facebook and Twitter accounts
·       Work with the Board of Directors on solicitations to individuals and contact with potential funders
·       Prepare monthly updates to the Board of Directors on the status of fundraising efforts
·       Provide administrative support to the Executive Director as needed.

Qualifications
·       Bachelor’s Degree
·       One to three years of experience in a related field, preferably within one of the GPCC’s program focus areas or nonprofit fundraising; graduate students are welcome to apply.
·       Excellent analytical, writing, and editing skills
·       Good verbal and organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
·       Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, QuickBooks, and social media platforms

Notes
This is currently a 30 hour per week part-time position with the potential to increase to full-time.  The GPCC is located at the landmark Garfield Park Conservatory on Chicago’s West Side.
