The City of Longwood, Florida (pop 14,000+), seeks an energetic, self-motivated and customer service oriented development review/current planner.
Located just north of Orlando, on Central Florida’s new commuter rail service, Longwood  has seen an increase in project applications, along with a desire to develop programs and initiatives to promote walkability, mixed use, transit oriented development, maximizing our historic resources (the City has a Historic District listed on the National Trust for Historic Preservation) and sustainability. The position will be primarily focused on development review, and current planning however because our office is small other projects will be assigned as needed.  
The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in Urban Planning w/minimum 2 years professional planning experience with emphasis on development review or a Bachelor’s in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, or Geography w/minimum 5 years professional planning experience in development services. Working knowledge of GIS required.
A mixture of municipal and provide sector planning experience preferred. American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) preferred. Salary $40,720.46 to $65,152.74
