Description: The School of Public Health seeks a Program Coordinator in the area of Academic Affairs. With minimal supervision, the position will provide close administrative support to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. He or she will have responsibility for oversight of the day-to-day activities, and assist in the development and management of the School of Public Health's (SPH) academic degree and certificate programs, and student academic policies and procedures.

Duties: Responsibilities of this position include: Coordinates the
establishment of joint degree programs and assists with obtaining
institutional liability agreements for field placements external to UIC. Develops and manages the administration of SPH survey tools, analyzes the resulting survey data, and prepares reports for SPH and the Associate Dean. Manages the organization of the Dean's forum, including scheduling speakers and the selection of topics. Participates in setting academic policies and procedures relating to student progression through the academic programs. Schedules SPH academic program meetings, prepares meeting agendas and supporting materials, records meeting minutes, and produces annual reports. Participates in required analysis, design and implementation of office information systems. Helps the academic units define and map target markets
for the School's continuing education certificate programs. Manages
department budget of $150k. Prepares reimbursements and other vouchers in accordance with University policies and procedures. Plans, assigns and reviews work of staff to ensure that group objectives are met. Trains, develops and manages staff to ensure that a qualified staff exists to meet group objectives. Oversees SPH website content and maintains website page portions for academic affairs and student services that are under the direct control of the Associate Dean.

Qualifications: Minimum Acceptable Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent

2. Any one or any combination of the following, totaling three years (36
months), from the categories below:
A) College course work in any field.
B) Progressively more responsible work experience in supervising,
organizing, coordinating or other significant work experience with specific
educational or administrative program initiatives.
3. Two (2) years of responsible experience in supervising, organizing,
coordinating or other significant work with specific educational or
administrative program initiatives

Strongly Desired Qualifications
Masters degree in public health, public administration, social work,
healthcare administration, higher education administration, or a related
field preferred.

Three years of progressively responsible experience in university
administration coordinating academic programs required. Demonstrated
proficiencies in office IT software (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Access,
Outlook). Working knowledge of html. Working knowledge of Banner, SOPHAS,
and campus student academic processes preferred.

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks
with deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work both
independently and as a team member. Excellent written and oral skills.
