Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Reseach Abroad Fellowship -UPDATE

Hello Graduate Students,

I emailed out a notice about the Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation
Research Abroad Fellowship a few days ago, that just opened for a brief
period of time. I have added some pertinent information online (
http://grad.uic.edu/cms/?pid=1000079--- scroll down to the first bolded
fellowship listed), along with uploading a copy of this year's application
and FAQs for you to take a look at (
http://grad.uic.edu/pdfs/FHDDRApplication12.pdf). PLEASE look at this, if
you are at all considering applying. This application takes a fair amount
of work (the online packet is 119 pages) and I want everyone to be totally
aware of what it all all entails. Page 9 of the packet goes into detail on
the required components, and length/size restrictions.

To initiate your application, you need to create an account through the
U.S. Department of Education's portal. Some of you may have used this site
before, it facilitates the application process for a variety of grants and
fellowships. You can visit it at www.G5.gov. When creating your account,
please note me as your Prospective Project Director (Marie Khan,
mkhanj@uic.edu, (312)355-3456). Do not note Lisa Knepshield, who was UIC's
past Project Director. When you upload all the pieces to your application,
and your transcripts and letters of rec get submitted, I access it all, add
any additional materials required, and then submit it by the June 14th
deadline. Due to this process, I have a earlier campus deadline set of June
6th. All applications are submitted online in this manner.

Lastly, if you plan on applying for this, please let me know via email. I
am going to stop corresponding with this large listserv regarding this
fellowship, and will then email interested applicants individually and in
small groups.

~Sincerely,

Marie Khan
