Do you have plans yet for this summer? Have you thought about spending 8 weeks in Washington, DC completing an internship and earning credit from Georgetown University?

The final application deadline for the summer 2012 Institute on Business & Government Affairs and the Institute on Comparative Political & Economic Systems is coming up on March 7. It’s not too late to apply – there are many exciting internship opportunities available and generous scholarship funding to be awarded.

Spend your summer gaining real-world experience that will help set you apart when it comes time to find your first job after graduation. Here are some examples of intern projects and program activities that you could take part of this summer:
* Develop a strategic marketing plan for your client who is lobbying for a bill on Capitol Hill.
* Research data for a report on bio-terrorism threats and other national security concerns.
* Attend a Congressional briefing and write a summary for your organization’s newsletter.
* Visit the World Bank headquarters to learn about international aid and development.
* Walk down K Street and see the epicenter of business and government affairs.
* Attend a strategy meeting with coalition groups advocating for clean energy policies.
* Sit on the floor of the House of Representatives and hear from Congressmen about pending legislation.
* Attend a briefing at the U.S. Department of State and hear from those making and implementing U.S. Foreign Policy.
* Help prepare a briefing book for your boss who will be testifying in an important Congressional hearing.
* Tour the House and Senate office buildings with top lobbyists advocating the interests of their clients.
* Tour an embassy and hear from foreign diplomats.

In addition to an internship and classes, the programs provide housing in furnished, on-campus apartments, planned social activities, professional development seminars, and numerous opportunities for networking.
