Associate Director of Student Development Services, UIC

The University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking applicants for the position of Associate Director of Student Development Services (Student Leadership Development and Volunteer Services). The Associate Director is the senior staff member who supervises and provides direction to the Student Leadership Development and Volunteer Services Program. The Associate Director is responsible for the provision of leadership training and group development for students and their organizations, the development and coordination of student volunteerism initiatives and service learning programs, as well as the active cultivation of student/faculty interaction initiatives. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in developing and implementing a comprehensive student leadership/volunteer services program.

The position is full time and available June 1, 2012. Applicants must possess a Master's degree in educational leadership and policy studies, college student personnel or a related field. Certifications in personality assessment and leadership development programs preferred. Working knowledge of student and leadership development theory, civic engagement theory and social justice education theory. A minimum 5-years professional experience in Student Affairs or educational program planning. Supervisory experience with budget responsibility required. Strong organizational, leadership and project management skills. Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
