Teaching opportunity: policy analysis with IIT

Roland Calia, who taught the capital budgeting course for us last
semester and who is on the faculty at IIT, advises me that IIT is
seeking someone to each a masters-level course in policy analysis. The
course will be offered on Wednesdays from 3-5:30 at the IIT downtown
campus, 565 West Adams. There is a course description below.

PA 542: Agency Planning and Policy Analysis

This course is designed to provide students with an overview of planning
concepts and techniques used by government organizations. The course
will help students develop two skill sets. The first skill set involves
how to formulate a research problem using various analytic tools and
techniques. The second skill set involves the ability to develop
policy models such as financial models required for cost-benefit
analysis, concepts of measurement (types of variables, reliability,
