Job Summary and Mission
This job contributes to Starbucks success by providing transportation expertise, project management, analytical and influencing skills to support the transportation team in developing innovative, cost-effective and scalable systems that facilitate global growth and generate store and customer value. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
* Assesses the financial and operational impact of business initiatives and recommends or implements solutions.
* Develops project plans that define scope, schedule, budget and business impact and risks. Executes plans and identifies issues or obstacles, gains alignment and brings to resolution.
* Leads the design and implementation of transportation processes and systems that improve efficiency and reduce costs. Develops requests for proposal and analyzes bids. Participates in contract negotiations and leads start-ups with transportation providers.Summary of Experience
* Food service or food company transportation and distribution operations (5 years)
* Order management system(s) (5 years)
* Performance metrics development and root cause analysis (5 years)
* Project management (5 years)
* Transportation carrier negotiations (3 years)
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
* Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently
* Ability to work independently
* Results-oriented
* Ability to lead others
* Strong coaching and interpersonal skills
