Job Description

AcademyHealth, the professional home for health services researchers and policy analysts, is currently seeking a Senior Manager to provide experienced staff support for a major new initiative designed to help advance infrastructure and methods for comparative effectiveness research with electronic clinical data. The Senior Manager will work as part of a program team to analyze key technical and policy issues for senior level researchers and decision makers, as well as take a substantive role conducting literature reviews and syntheses, and policy analyses. Other responsibilities will include develop dissemination products and disseminating results to relevant stakeholders, including managing a set of project web sites.

Responsibilities:

* Conduct analyses and produce issue briefs, papers, and reports, including literature reviews and syntheses;
* Cultivate and maintain relationships with various stakeholders, including facilitating site visits, conference calls, and in-person meetings;
* Work closely with project staff in commissioning and reviewing papers and reports, including participating in and developing initial write-ups of all site visits;
* Oversee development of ongoing communication via web channels, including webinars, social media, and other dissemination vehicles;
* Develop and manage "learning networks" composed of researchers, clinicians, health care decision-makers, policymakers, and other relevant key stakeholders;
* Develop and apply substantive knowledge of comparative effectiveness research and associated policy issues; and
* Work with project staff to ensure quality control of all deliverables.

Job Requirements

Desired Qualifications:

* Masters degree in health policy, public policy, public health or related field from accredited college or university;
* Minimum of five years of substantive professional experience in health policy and/or health services research;
* Demonstrated knowledge of health policy issues, (e.g., comparative effectiveness research, quality improvement, HIT);
* Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, including literature review and synthesis;
* Strong written and oral communications skills;
* Strong organization and project management skills, including a demonstrated ability to efficiently plan, organize, and manage complex, multi-task projects with limited direct supervision;
* Mature, detail-oriented, able to work well under deadline pressure, and work independently and with a team; and
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
