Arlington-based Communities In Schools helps students stay in school and make the right choices – by connecting them and their schools with needed community resources. Key Responsibilities of the Research and Evaluation Manager
• Design and implement evaluations of multiple initiatives and dropout prevention programs.
• Manage network state office annual reporting process.
• Develop and manage a quality assurance system for tracking affiliate progress through the stages of Communities In Schools’ Total Quality System (TQS).
• Report and interpret programmatic data in support of the TQS accreditation process.
• Develop and manage a system for conducting biennial reviews of nationally accredited affiliates.
• Assist with the affiliate end-of-year reporting process.
• Build data collection and reporting capacity of local affiliate and state office organizations by providing ongoing training and technical assistance for a national Web-based data management system.
• Produce high-quality, user-friendly reports and data analysis for multiple internal and external stakeholders and audiences.
Essential Competencies of the Successful Candidate
• Technical proficiency in Web-based data management and Microsoft Office programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to author or contribute to high-quality reports, user-friendly presentation materials, procedure manuals, business correspondence, etc.
• Ability to effectively present complex information during training sessions, workshops and presentations for a wide range of audiences.
• Results-oriented with strategic-thinking skills.
• Strong planning, organizational, project management and time management skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to work well with various groups.
Background / Prior Experience
Graduate degree with coursework in areas such as data collection and analysis, statistics and program evaluation; or a related undergraduate degree and at least three years of successful, relevant hands-on experience required.
