Communications Manager - Transportation & Infrastructure - Morreale Communications

Salary: $75,000-$80,000.00/annually  

This position works remotely today and will be transitioning to a hybrid-work schedule requiring 2-3 days per week in office, beginning in 2024.

The Communications Manager is a critical thinker with excellent communication and client relations skills. This role develops strategies for public education and outreach campaigns intended to reach diverse audiences, using a combination of traditional and emerging resources.

Morreale Communications has an opportunity for a Senior Communications Manager to join our award-winning team to support transportation-specific communications and public involvement projects. The Senior Communications Manager will work closely with project teams to develop and execute comprehensive communications tactics that include content development and communication strategy intended to reach diverse audiences using a combination of traditional and emerging resources. 

This person must be able to work collaboratively with and manage team members to develop and carry out communications strategies that shape highly technical transportation, engineering and planning information into digestible messaging and content for targeted audience consumption (including external stakeholders, industry stakeholders, public, etc.). Job Description: The Communications and Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing  communications and operational efforts to support our company and our business communities,  involving written, verbal, and graphic communications as well as analytical skills. This position will be  based at The Plant with some flexibility to work remotely.  

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Manage communications and marketing efforts to support and promote our business communities and our own activities, including the Turtle Stop

  • Oversee events and space rentals, and occasionally lead tours  

  • Facilitate day-to-day administrative and operational functions by handling media and general  inquiries, data entry, reporting needs, purchasing, etc.  

  • Writing, including development of promotional materials, summaries of research projects, etc. 

  • Cultivate relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders and partners  

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years’ work experience 

  • Exceptional written, verbal, and graphic communication skills, with the ability to edit, proofread,  and tailor communications to different audiences  

  • Excellent organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail  - 

  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team; experience in managing and motivating team members, volunteers, and partners to work collaboratively is a plus

  • Deep interest in and knowledge of sustainable practices  

  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and Adobe CS  

  • Retail experience, or interest and enthusiasm to learn  

  • Spanish proficiency is a plus  

  • Personal integrity/responsibility and sense of humor are a must!  

Position Details: Wage rate for this new position depends on qualifications. Schedule will vary to  accommodate events and will include occasional weekend hours. We offer employer-supported  health, dental, and vision insurance options and a SIMPLE IRA retirement benefit program.

Project Coordinator - Port Authority of NY & NJ (Jersey City, NJ)

Who: Port Authority of NY & NJ - Technology Transition Team

What: The Project Coordinator will play a significant leadership role in the rollout of a series of new technology solutions for the 1,600+ member Port Authority Police Department. Building on the recent successful transition of the department onto a modernized, electronic crime and incident-reporting system, the coordinator will advance implementation of electronic motor vehicle accident reporting and citation writing. This work will involve project management, stakeholder coordination, and strategic communication tasks done in an office environment, as well as occasional field visits and observations conducted on-site at police commands in the NY and NJ area. This work will be overseen by the Security Technology group, under the Office of the Chief Security Officer. This is a full-time, one-year contract opportunity with the possibility to extend.

Communications Manager - Public Affairs

The Lincoln Institute of Land Policy seeks an energetic, well-organized, and detail-oriented person to fill the role of Communications Manager. This is a full-time position based at the Lincoln Institute's headquarters in Cambridge, MA. The position provides a unique opportunity for a self-starter with initiative to strengthen the strategic communications program at an established think tank seeking to reconfirm brand identity, increase audience, raise profile, and maximize impact. The Communications Manager would manage day-to-day operations in developing content, media relations, engagement in public-facing events, website and social media, and internal communications. The position would report to the Director of Public Affairs and together work with the CEO and department leadership at the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy to implement the strategic communications program. In addition to 5 years experience in marketing, public relations, journalism, branding, or some combination, an interest and knowledge in urban planning and the health of cities would be highly desirable.
