Store Manager, Social Enterprise, Evanston ReBuilding Warehouse - Evanston, IL (Chicago Near North Suburb)

Title:  Social Enterprise Store Manager Administrator

Supervisor:  Executive Director
Summary: 
Reporting directly to the Executive Director and founder of the organization, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of a building materials warehouse store; sales and customer service; marketing and communications; and special events.
The ideal administrator will not only have experience in these areas, but also some knowledge of building materials and/or design, a commitment to environmental sustainability and a propensity for social responsibility.  As part of a growing social enterprise, the position will grow in responsibility and remuneration.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Store Management Operations (40%)
·       Manage on-site store operation
·       Oversee facilities operations
·       Develop and manage safety policies and procedures
·       Ensure that pricing and store operations policies are observed


Direct Sales and Customer Relations (45%)
·       Greet and help customers
·       Assist customers in selection of inventory and help them understand how to use it
·       Verify prices 
·       Create and manage displays
·       Maintain enough technical knowledge of inventory to help customers make appropriate choices


Marketing and Communications, (10%)
·       Play a major role in public relations
o   Traditional print, radio and television
o   Social media
o   Website
o   Facebook
o   Twitter
o   Craigslist
·       Create flyers as needed
·       Publish monthly newsletters
·       Manage publications, i.e. brochure, coupons, etc.

Events Management (5%)
·       Plan and manage events, i.e. architects continuing education
·       Promote ERW Community outreach/events, i.e. Go Green Wilmette
·       Plan membership parties (with volunteer help)
·       Help with Fundraisers

Qualifications:
·       Bachelor’s degree preferred
·       Minimum 2 – 3 years experience in retail, social enterprise or related business environment
·       Knowledge of construction and/or design industries
·       Team oriented professional committed to the company’s sustainability and social mission goals
·       Knowledge and/or experience in sales-driven environment
·       Personable with great attitude and “can-do” spirit
