_*Join a vibrant campus community whose excellence is reflected in its diversity and student success.  West Chester University of Pennsylvania’s Master of Public Administration Program invites applications for two (2) tenure-trackAssistant Professor positions to start Fall 2013.  We are interested in individuals with broad expertise in the field public administration, which may include nonprofit or public personnel management.  We are particularly interested in individuals who have the capacity and the interest in teaching our core MPA courses such as: Foundations of Public Service, Research Methods, Organizational Theory & Leadership, Public Budgeting & Finance, Public Personnel Management and Policy Analysis & Program Evaluation. Teaching assignments may include distance education/online courses.

We are looking for scholars who can combine excellent teaching and academic advising with an active research agenda.  Preference will be given to candidates with professional experience in a public or non-profit setting and teaching experience.  Finalists must successfully complete an on-site interview and teaching demonstration.  PhD required. ABDs will be considered.  References with contact information will be required prior to interview.

West Chester University is primarily a teaching university.  Successful candidates will be expected to assume a full teaching load of 9 graduate credits per semester (evening courses), as well as department advisement of students.  West Chester University is located in a suburban setting approximately twenty miles southwest of Philadelphia.

Complete applications must include a cover letter describing teaching and research interests as well as professional experience if relevant, a curriculum vita, copies of graduate transcripts, a brief sample of writing/research, sample syllabi, a teaching philosophy statement, and teaching evaluations (if available).  Applicants should also provide the contact information for three (3) references.  Do not send letters of reference or request that they be sent.
