Description:

Take an active role in department operations and project management activities and may supervise and direct department support staff and consultants. Assumes primary responsibility for planning and design activities for Pepperdine's Campus Life Project. Researches, develops, prepares and/or contracts for preparation of, and maintains, disseminates and presents progress plans, final plans, and reports regarding short-, mid- and long-range campus planning projects. Responsible for preparing project scope and budget documents, and performs feasibility studies in order to evaluate solutions and programming regarding design options. Responsible for developing design guidelines for capital projects. Conducts research and development of planning solutions, including analysis and collaboration with stakeholders. Directs various aspects of campus planning including guiding development of and evaluating site plans, land use studies, campus zoning, impact analyses, transportation and utilities issues, taking into consideration demographic, economic, and physical infrastructure information.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's in Planning, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Mgt., or related field; minimum 3 years supervisory and/or operations management experience; and minimum of 5 years in planning and/or design experience; Or Bachelor's in Planning, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; minimum 3 years supervisory and/or operations management experience; minimum 7 years planning and/or design experience; Or Bachelor's; minimum 3 years supervisory and/or operations management experience; and minimum 10 years of highly relevant planning and/or design experience. California licensure is preferred, but not required. Willingness and ability to periodically work longer hours to deliver projects is required. Ability to move about on construction sites, and to lift and carry 30 pounds is required. Must drive personal vehicle for University business (mileage reimbursed), hold valid driver’s license, and meet University requirements for insurability.
