Job Description
POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Faculty Appointment in Environmental and Energy Policy
The Precourt Institute for Energy (PIE) and the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR) at Stanford University seek an outstanding scholar for a faculty appointment. This scholar will perform research, teaching, and outreach within the Stanford Environmental and Energy Policy Analysis Center (SEEPAC), which reports to both PIE and SIEPR. SEEPAC aims to foster outstanding research on the formulation and evaluation of policies addressing pressing environmental and energy problems, and to influence policy decisions by communicating its findings to decision makers.
The will be a Senior Fellow appointment. There may be opportunities for a joint faculty appointment with an academic department.
Applicants should have an outstanding record of research in environmental or energy policy. The researcher will build upon and extend into new areas the current SEEPAC research agenda, which includes analyses of policies to address climate change, promote improvements to energy supply and use, control air and water pollution, and protect biodiversity.
The appointment carries a five-year term, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and availability of funding. We encourage applicants with a background in economics, political science, law or related social science. Stanford University is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to increasing the diversity of its faculty. It welcomes nominations of, and applications from, women and members of minority groups, as well as others who would bring additional dimensions to the university's research and teaching missions.
Applicants should send curriculum vitae, statement of research interest, and writing samples by October 31, 2010 to the Environmental and Energy Policy Senior Fellow Search Committee through EconJobMarket.org. For more information about SIEPR, see http//siepr.stanford.edu. For questions, contact Marian Perez at marian.perez@stanford.edu.
