Workforce Partnerships Coordinator - City Colleges of Chicago

COORDINATOR - WORKFORCE PARTNERSHIPS (GRANT FUNDED)


OLIVE-HARVEY COLLEGE

Under the direction of the WEI Executive Director, the Part-Time Coordinator-Workforce Partnerships will work collaboratively within the WEI team to identify, organize, maintain, and coordinate Olive Harvey College/Project Evolve partnerships with business, industry, and community constituents. Collaborates with WEI program staff to increase successful employment assistance of participants into high demand, high wage employment positions.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develops and Fosters professional relationships with industry partners, Advisory Committee members, community groups and students.
  • Reviews and maintains employer/student evaluations, progress reports and database.
  • Participates in course planning in an outcome-based format to ensure industry/partner alignment. In collaboration with Deans and faculty.
  • Works with the WEI Executive Director to proactively assist in identifying local, regional and national opportunities for creating public/private partnerships to support current and future Project Evolve student’s employment and career advancement efforts and training to enable students to secure the jobs of today and the future.
  • Manages relationships with non-profits (e.g., community-based organizations, other educational institutions, etc.) and government to support the project Evolve program efforts to secure employment or career advancement for students.
  • Monitors and helps develop outcome tracking metrics that confirm the value of programs and partnerships over time to assure that students and partners are achieving the stated goals.
  • Collaborates with all College departments and offices for seamless integration of the programs offered through project Evolve.
  • Serve as main point of contact for JFF and ICCB on the Employment Connection Project
  • Work with JFF to identify local employers
  • Participate in all ECP meetings hosted by the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) and Jobs for the Future (JFF)
  • Work with key internal stakeholders to submit a midterm and final employer engagement plans to ICCB and JFF
  • Assist with reporting employment data to ICCB

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Public Administration, Sociology or a closely related field, Master’s Doctorate preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in academic/business/industry management. Some industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in job creation through a role in private industry, government, education, or a community-based organization. Deep understanding of private industry structure and staffing needs.
  • Familiarity with workforce preparation strategies, job search placement services, career and vocational education, adult learning principles, and multiple population groups
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in managing projects and programs that enhance economic development and create jobs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, analytical, interpersonal and presentation skills. Excellent negotiation and mediation skills.
  • Ability to work with and relate to a culturally diverse student body and staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access) basic Internet research techniques, and proficiency with virtual platforms-Zoom, Teams, WebEx.
