JOB OPENING: Assistant Dean/Director of Advancement - College of Nursing
The Assistant Dean/Director is the chief advancement officer for the College, responsible for all activities related to advancing the College's mission, its visibility through communications and marketing, and private support from alumni, friends, corporations and foundations. The Assistant Dean/Director of Advancement collaborates in building strategic philanthropic relationships and directs the communication of the College’s mission, vision, and achievements to key constituencies. As a member of the Dean of Nursing's leadership team, the Assistant Dean/Director provides counsel to the Dean of the College and other faculty and staff on fundraising, constituent relationship, and communication and marketing matters and reports directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Development and indirectly to the Dean of the College. Collaboration among the Assistant Dean/Director of Advancement, Dean of the College, and the Associate Vice Chancellor Development is essential to success.
Candidate Qualifications include:
• Knowledge of and appreciation for the health professions
• Exceptional leadership, organizational and writing skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a nationally-ranked College
• Outstanding record of achieving performance and fundraising goals
• Prior experience successfully managing a fundraising program and an integrated constituent relationship and communications/marketing program
• Supervisory / team building experience
• High energy, innovative, can-do spirit
• Minimum of seven years of fundraising success
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
• Membership in professional associations and the CFRE or similar credential desirable
