Background:
Neumann Family Services is a nonprofit organization that strives to integrate persons with disabilities and other life issues into the community and enrich their quality of life with choice and independence.  Each year, we serve approximately 500 men and women with developmental disabilities and mental illness with a variety of housing, employment, case management, clinical, medical and supportive services with the goal of helping these clients reach their greatest potential.

Neumann Family Services currently operates “Neu-to-U”, a virtual resale shop designed to provide job training and experience to individuals with disabilities and generate a new source of revenue for the organization.  The organization is seeking a summer intern to help run the store as well as to conduct research, develop marketing strategies and formal recommendations to help grow this business.

General Functions:
Neumann Family Services is looking for a summer intern to help manage our in-house E-bay store. The intern will be responsible for running the store which includes managing inventory, packing and shipping merchandise, sending invoices, and responding to customer queries. Other responsibilities include reviewing the function of the store, researching new products and areas for growth, and developing marketing tools and strategies. Over the course of the summer, the intern will write a business case for the store.

This is a great opportunity for students interested learning how to run and market a business and/or for students with a special interest in nonprofits.

Minimum Qualifications: 
High School diploma required, some college strongly preferred. Preferred business major or a strong desire to learn about e-commerce, marketing, and running a business. Must have excellent computer skills, strong customer orientation and interpersonal skills, good written and oral communication capabilities. Must have home computer and internet access.  Must to be able to pack, lift and carry up to 25 pounds of merchandise. E-Bay experience desirable.
