Reimbursement and Compliance Specialist: University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC)

Position available September 16, 2009 for Reimbursement and Compliance Specialist in the Department of Surgical Oncology to administer the Department's physicians' practice reimbursement and compliance activities. Position requires bachelor's degree with at least two year's experience and/or certification in coding. Must have in depth knowledge of Medicare compliance, understanding of insurance company reimbursement requirements/practices, and be highly skilled in coordination and follow-up on multiunit resolutions. Proven track record developing compliance policies and standards, overseeing and monitoring compliance activities, and achieving and maintaining compliance with Medicare, JCAHO, and other medical practice regulatory agencies preferred. Required proficiency in CPT/ICD-9 coding, and all other aspects of the billing process for the clinical science department preferred. Proficiency with University of Illinois policy and systems in hospital and WWT preferred.
This is a continuous, part time (70%), twelve month position.
