Program Coordinator, Research: University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) - CADRE

Job Description:
The CENTER for ADVANCED DESIGN, RESEARCH and EXPLORATION, at the
University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking a coordinator to provide
project management for multidisciplinary research programs. The
candidate will provide high-level project management support to the
Assistant Director of Research and affiliated researchers and business
managers. The coordinator will be responsible for fiscal and project
management oversight, act as a scientific liaison between CADRE staff,
researchers, contractors, and sponsor agencies. Further, the Program
Coordinator will assist senior staff allocate resources to help assure
successful completion of project deliverables. Further, the Program
Coordinator will investigate issues, consult key stakeholders on project
progress, and provide advice regarding options for action, as needed.
Job responsibilities include initiation, preparation, and approval of
purchases and other financial transactions for as well as the
compilation of technical reports for assigned sponsored programs.

Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelors degree required, preferred fields of study include
engineering, biology, chemistry, or related field (Masters Degree
preferred). At least four years of project management, research
coordination, grant administration, or business operations required.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
Candidate may need to secure appropriate US Government issued security
clearance; maintaining confidentiality and dealing with sensitive issues
are required.

Other Skills
The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, the
ability to be flexible, learn new skills, and work well with external
agencies, other universities, and small businesses. Knowledge of grant
and contract administration from a scientific perspective is preferred.

Salary range for position:
$ 45,000 - 75,000
