Transportation Planning Manager - City of Boulder, CO

Hiring Range:

$108,784.00 - $132,912.00

Job Description Summary:

Under general direction of the Deputy Director of Transportation and Mobility, provide leadership and manage the transportation planning of the city’s multimodal transportation system. This includes taking a department-wide perspective and working cooperatively with other division managers to incorporate planning through the lifecycle of projects and assets from planning, building, to operating and maintaining the system. The transportation planning manager also oversees regional and local transportation policy efforts. This position serves as an advisor to the Transportation and Mobility Department Director and Deputy Director and supports City Council, city advisory boards and city staff, functions as a liaison with other city departments and is a member of the Transportation and Mobility management team emphasizing effective communications, continuous improvement, problem-solving orientation, service to customers, and accountability.

We are currently seeking a Transportation Planner/Engineer to join the Transportation-Infrastructure Practice in our Jacksonville, FL office.
The successful candidate should possess both technical and policy-oriented planning skills to participate in a broad range of planning projects. The position will focus on technical, analytical, and multi-modal planning and will include work in North Florida including Jacksonville and Tallahassee with support provided to other markets as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Engineering, Geographic Information Systems, or related discipline. Master’s Degree Desired.
  • 5+ years’ experience in transportation/traffic planning, transit and/or analytical assessments.
  • Prior experience in transportation corridor studies, traffic planning, multimodal planning, analytics or freight/logistics is desirable
  • AICP and/or PE preferred
  • Strong GIS and/or database management knowledge and skills are desirable
  • Capability in specialized technology or decision support tools a plus (such as CommunityViz or similar decision support software, Python scripting visual basic, MS Access)

We are currently seeking a Transportation Planner to join the Transportation-infrastructure Practice in our Orlando, FL office.
The successful candidate should possess both technical and policy-oriented planning skills to participate in a broad range of planning projects. The position will focus on transit planning and will include work in Central Florida including Orlando and Tampa, with support provided to other markets as needed.
 Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, Transportation Management, Business or related discipline. Master’s Degree Desired.
  • 5+ years’ experience in successful project management and project marketing
  • Prior experience will include work in transit planning and work in transportation corridor studies, comprehensive planning, multimodal planning, or long-range transportation planning is desirable
  • AICP and/or PE preferred
  • LEED Accredited Professional is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of common technology and communication tools (such as geographic information systems)
  • Capability in specialized technology transportation or land use analysis or decision support tools a plus (such as CommunityViz decision support software).
