What: Advanced planning and coordination work focused on community engagement and outreach to ensure a complete count of South Suburban/Southern Cook County residents during the 2020 U.S. Census. Facilitate networks of community organizations, local businesses, civic leaders, non-profits, local governments, public agencies, faith-based institutions, and other local entities to educate and inform residents, and promote positive benefits resulting from an accurate 2020 Census count.

Housing and Community Development Fellow - Metropolitan Mayors Caucus (Chicago, IL)
Who: Metropolitan Mayor's Caucus
What: The Housing + Community Development Fellow is a one-year, full time position to provide programmatic support to its Housing + Community Development Program. The Fellow primarily serves as project manager for the Caucus’ Census Participation Grant, which will help suburban municipalities understand how to engage their diverse constituencies to participate in the Census and achieve an accurate count next year. The Fellow also provides support to other work areas within the Housing + Community Development Program as well as the Caucus at large. This position reports primarily to the Director of Housing Initiatives. The position may be renewed after one year, contingent on funding availability.

Responsibilities include:
- Plan, develop, and coordinate the partnership agreements to ensure activities all levels are carried out, resolve problems encountered, and determine the need for renegotiation.
- Address questions, concerns and issues related to current and potential partners and stakeholders.
- Establish partnership agreements with federal/tribal/state/local governments, and/or local businesses and community groups to develop specific strategies to eliminate enumeration barriers in specific regions in support of the Decennial Census.
- Develop presentations, give briefings, conduct meetings and promote partnerships with various governments, local businesses and community groups.

Clerk: The individual selected for this position will:
- Perform administrative activities such as following up on requests for information, ensure the correct material is provided, and distribution of office materials and incoming mail. Maintain correspondence files.
- Monitor personnel/payroll processing activities, resolve and recommend corrective actions using an automated system.
- Communicate with internal and external customers, answer inquiries regarding office procedures, respond to multiple customer demands.
- Create memoranda and correspondence, review for accuracy and procedural compliance on personnel and payroll documentation based on rough drafts or verbal instructions.
- Use office automation software such as database or spreadsheet to enter, revise, sort or calculate, and retrieve data; graphics software to provide graphic symbols, charts and graphs.
- Operate various office machines such as the copy machine.
Census Recruiter: The individual selected for this position will:
- Develop, organize, manage, and implement the recruitment program, activities, and functions of the excepted service employees of the Regional Census Center.
- Develop a strategic plan for recruitment programs, operations, and goals for the Regional Census Center.
- Conduct or participate in group recruiting sessions.
- Analyze and monitor progress, performance and cost data of a recruitment program to ensure recruitment operations are within specific time limits and budget constraints.
