Director of Operations for Economic Development, Chicago Central Area Committee and Alliance for Regional Development

Who: The Alliance for Regional Development and Chicago Central Area Committee (CCAC) are Chicago-based economic development organizations that collaborate on coordinated programs and led by a management team of employees and skilled consultants.

What: This position is a dual role with the Chicago Central Area Committee (CCAC) and the Alliance for Regional Development. At CACC, the Director of Operations will support the President & CEO with guiding cross-jurisdictional collaborative activities of more than 100 high-level governmental, commercial, and institutional leaders committed to improving the Milwaukee, Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana corridor’s mega-region economy in the areas of Workforce, Transportation and Water. This effort is part of a regional planning pilot project funded by the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration and regional sponsors, in response to the recommendations of an OECD Territorial Review of the Chicago metropolitan area.

Community Organizer - PASO West Suburban Action Project

Who: PASO is deeply rooted in the Western Suburbs working from a gender justice perspective on issues impacting the Latinx and other communities of color. PASO’s model is unique as it combines empowerment tools, support, education, leadership development with policy/advocacy and immigration legal services. No other grassroots immigrant rights organization employs a multi-faceted approach by engaging those directly impacted to inform and lead the organization and its work. PASO’s approach to providing direct services, engaging in outreach, education and policy is informed and led by people directly impacted and in close collaboration with partner organizations and key institutional stakeholders.

What: West Suburban Action Project seeks a passionate and energetic community organizer to provide expertise in organizing, leadership development, membership development, and campaigns with a focus in empowering local community members to create systematic change.

Director of Government Affairs, ISSA (Northbrook, IL)

Who: ISSA - The Worldwide Cleaning Industry Association. As the leading trade association for the cleaning industry worldwide, ISSA is committed to helping its members change the way the world views cleaning. ISSA promotes the vision that cleaning is an investment in human health, the environment, and an improved bottom line. The association has more than 9,000 members include distributors, manufacturers, manufacturer representatives, building service contractors, in-house service providers, and associated service members. ISSA helps increase professionalism and member success by offering business tools, educational products, industry standards, publications, events, and legislative and regulatory services that specifically focus on the professional cleaning industry and the value it provides. The association is headquartered in Northbrook, IL, USA, with regional offices in Mainz, Germany and Shanghai, China.

What: The Director of Government Affairs (DGA) will be primarily responsible for developing and managing ISSA’s government relations and advocacy program on behalf of the commercial and industrial cleaning industry. The DGA will develop and implement lobbying strategies, including organizing grassroots advocacy efforts, the drafting of statements, letters and testimonies, and coordinating activities with other industry associations where appropriate. The DGA also prepares internal and external reports on government initiatives that impact the commercial and institutional cleaning industry as appropriate providing detailed summaries, recommended positions, and suggested advocacy strategies.
