The University of Illinois at Springfield invites applications for two tenure-track assistant professor positions.
Qualifications for the positions include an earned doctorate (at the time of appointment) in public administration, public policy, political science, organizational behavior, or a related field, with strong teaching and research interests in one or more of the disciplines or sub-disciplines of public administration. Desired areas of teaching include public budgeting, human resources, diversity, or general public administration.Willingness to serve on DPA dissertation committees is important.Applicants should have an emerging record of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and professional service; a commitment to addressing diversity in the classroom and preparing students to address diversity in the workforce and community, and an established research agenda. Salary is competitive, depending on qualifications.This position will require teaching a portion of coursework in our online program. Experience in online teaching is desirable.
The Department of Public Administration is housed in the College of Public Affairs and Administration and offers a DPA degree and an accredited MPA degree (seewww.uis.edu/pa/ <http://www.uis.edu/pa/>).
Located in the state capital, the University of Illinois Springfield is one of three campuses of the University of Illinois. The UIS campus serves approximately 5,100 students in 21 graduate and 24 undergraduate programs. The academic curriculum of the campus emphasizes a strong liberal arts core, an array of professional programs, extensive opportunities in experiential education, and a broad engagement in public affairs issues of the day.
