Asst. Professor, Public Administration, University of Hawai'i at Manoa - Hawaii

*Assistant Professor, Public Administration Program, University of Hawai'i at Manoa, *position 84818, 9-month appointment, permanent, full-time, tenure track in Public Administration, general funds, subject to position clearance and availability of funds, to begin August 1, 2014. Public Administration is a graduate program within the College of Social Sciences that offers an MPA and two graduate certificates (www.puba.hawaii.edu<http://www.puba.hawaii.edu>). The Program's mission is to build public service leadership and the campus plays a unique role in bridging Hawaiian, Asian and Pacific cultures through education, research, and service.

*Duties:*Teach in the Public Administration core curricula, elective courses, capstone, and provide assistance with practicum/internship, 2-2-3 equivalent teaching load. Supervise and advise graduate students. Undertake scholarly and applied work, including obtaining external research funding, consistent with the purposes of the Program. Participate in department, college, university, and professional activities.

*Minimum Qualifications:*PhD in public administration, or a closely related field (ABD will be considered). Demonstrated research and teaching interests in comparative or international public administration or public management with specific interest in one or more of the following: public service employment and personnel practices, energy and sustainability issues, globalization, organization theory, and community engagement/development.

*Desirable Qualifications:*Experience in Asia and the Pacific. Commitment to and scholarly record of interdisciplinary and multicultural education relevant to the teaching, research and application missions of the Program and College.

*Salary:*Commensurate with experience and record of achievement.
