Description:
The University of Illinois at Chicago seeks an Admissions and Records Officer who, under minimal supervision, serves as an advisor and subject matter expert in the areas of undergraduate, graduate, and/or professional admissions. The position is responsible for understanding application requirements, credential analysis, site visits to high schools and/or college fairs, presentations to student and faculty groups, and applicant interface and correspondence.

Duties:
Investigate and determine transfer credit articulation policies for hundreds of feeder institutions and foreign academic systems. Verify authenticity of credentials. Advise students on requirements for every program. Reassess transfer credit articulation policies as courses evolve. Communicate and advise applicants regarding matters of university policies, financial aid guidelines, admissions and registration processes, credential evaluation and/or immigration requirements. Advise and counsel students on major selections in accordance with future career, professional, or academic goals. Independently makes ad hoc decisions to facilitate admissions for students. Train faculty and support staff members on BANNER, admissions reporting, application procedures, and university admissions policies. Prepare and analyze information management reports. Review and recommend changes to policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
. High School graduation or equivalent
. Two years of work experience involving collegiate admissions, records analysis or records management
. Bachelor's degree completion in significant academic interactions and other related student activities in assigned College or Academic Major.  (Liberal Arts and Science, Education.

Credential Assessment Exam Scoring Information:

If an application and exam request are not submitted by the close date, the applicant/employee will not be considered and the exam request will be denied.
