The National Association of State Budget Officers (NASBO), a small non-profit, non-partisan professional association of executive branch state budget and finance officers, has an immediate* opening for a full-time Fiscal Policy Analyst.
Job Responsibilities
- Writing a bi-weekly electronic newsletter primarily dealing with federal actions affecting state finances
- Tracking federal legislative developments impacting states
- Researching state fiscal issues on topics such as education
- Responding to member research inquiries on state budget topics
- Managing and assisting with fiscal research projects
- Monitoring state budget developments
- Maintaining website content
- Assisting with various administrative duties
Qualifications
Strong writing and research skills are required as well as strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment. Successful applicant should have at minimum a bachelor’s degree, with a graduate degree preferred, in the social sciences, preferably public policy or public administration, political science, economics or related field. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is expected.
