The Associate Director of Development: Annual Fund and Alumni Relations is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive annual giving program as well as an alumni relations effort that increases the number of LAS alumni and friends who are providing annual financial resources to the College. A minimum of 60% of the Associate Director’s time will be devoted to maintaining and soliciting a personal portfolio of leadership annual gift and major gift prospects, which will include individuals, corporations and foundations. The Associate Director will coordinate advancement and external relations strategies involving the College’s desire to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni and other annual fund donors. These initiatives will include: the annual fund campaign; liaison activity with the Liberal Arts and Sciences Alumni Association Board of Directors (LASAA); assistance and counsel to LAS departments and units about annual fund activities; some alumni related special events; and other initiatives as requested by the Director of Advancement.
Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred. Three to five years experience in fundraising with emphasis on strategic annual giving desired. Experience in complex organizations and in higher education is a plus. Excellence in communications, relationship building, integrity, and the ability to work with a positive and professional attitude and with diverse constituencies is critical.
