The Healthy Youths Program and the Community Outreach Intervention
Projects at the University of Illinois at Chicago, School of Public
Health is seeking a full-time Visiting Project Coordinator for a
federally-funded study to prevent HIV/AIDS among juvenile offenders.The
study is a randomized controlled trial to evaluate an innovative and
uniquely tailored HIV/AIDS, mental health, and substance use program
designed for 13–17 year old males and females on probation.

Job include Recruitment & Retention and Data Management
responsibilities: Recruit, track, and assess participating youth for
enrollment and follow-up in the research study; make contact with
youths' legal guardians to explain the study, retrieve consent, and
maintain an ongoing relationship with the family; conduct baseline and
follow-up assessments with youth participating in the study; maintain
communication with youth using various communication media (telephone,
email, facebook, and texts) to schedule appointments, send reminders,
and verify contact information throughout the study; create research
protocol using ACASI programming and maintain project databases using
SPSS; create and maintain a database documenting recruitment,
assessment, and follow-up activities; manage data verification and
retrieval for the project; supervise research staff who collect, enter,
and verify data; and review files for missing data, clean and merge
data, and ensure the integrity of data collection on and off site.

Qualifications: Bachelors degree required, advanced degree in a relevant
area such as public health, psychology, or social work preferred; strong
interpersonal skills and exceptional professionalism; ability to work
autonomously and complete job responsibilities independently; experience
in the collection, verification and management of data for a
longitudinal study; experience in ACASI development, Access, Excel, and
SPSS preferred; and experience working with youth preferred.

Intervention will occur at various sites in the community (probation
centers, homes, libraries, and schools) and travel to community-based
intervention sites throughout the city is necessary using a personal
vehicle. Some program activities will occur in the evenings. Candidates
must be willing to maintain a flexible schedule that includes evening hours.

Salary range: $28,000-$35,000, commensurate with experience.
