Senior Project Director
We are seeking Senior Project Directors to develop research and technical assistance portfolios in their sector of expertise. MCIC has traditionally worked with clients in Arts and Culture, Housing and Community Development, Economic Development, Health and Human Services, and Education; however, we welcome applications from individuals with experience outside these fields as well. The position is ideal for scholars and researchers with a track record in applied work outside traditional academia and those who are looking for the support and collegiality of an engaged team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop a specific proactive portfolio of ideas, contacts, and contracted projects that employ or expand MCIC’s internal research capabilities and products;Maintain a general and responsive network to forums and individuals that afford opportunities to initiate new projects;Develop proposals, prepare budgets, write research reports;Manage projects to on time completion at the budgeted cost, assembling, coaching and directing project teams;Serve as MCIC spokesperson, present research findings, represent MCIC at committees, conferences, and other forums.
Required Skills Include:
Project management;Research design;Data collection design;Quantitative data management/analysis; Qualitative data management/analysis;Grant and proposal writing.
Qualifications:
Broad knowledge of the Chicago metro area’s social/political trends and characteristics; Experience with individuals and organizations in civic organizations in selected area of expertise;Demonstrated supervisory skills;Excellent communications skills;Ability to direct multiple, varied, simultaneous projects;Proven track record in successful grant and proposal acquisition;M.A. or Ph.D. in research or social sciences field.
Compensation
Compensation based on experience. MCIC offers a full benefit package, and a casual but highly professional work environment. EOE.
