Executive Director - Six Corners Association

Who: The Six Corners neighborhood, at the intersection at Milwaukee Avenue, Cicero Avenue, and Irving Park Road, is an iconic retail destination and an economic driver of Chicago’s Northwest Side. In recent years, Six Corners has become known as a creative hub for innovative entrepreneurs and vibrant arts organizations. Six Corners Association’s small-and-mighty, hands-on team fosters the development of a thriving commercial district by mentoring and connecting community-minded businesses, attracting customers, and engaging in intentional planning for the district’s future.

What: Six Corners Association seeks a full-time Executive Director to provide vision, direction, and leadership in implementing the strategic goals and day-to-day operations of the Six Corners Association.

The Executive Director Position is a salaried, full-time, exempt position with occasional evening and weekend hours.

Start Date: Immediate

Reports to Six Corners Association Board of Directors

Essential Functions: Directs and manages the overall operations and staff in accordance with the policies and goals established by the Board of Directors; responsible for managing the objectives of the Association’s strategic plan, developing programming, organizational and financial plans, and ensuring effective execution of the annual work plan for the continual growth of the Six Corners commercial district.

Special Service Area Program Coordinator

Type: Part-time (20-30 hours/week)

We host events and workshops, connect our businesses and residents, and keep our shopping districts clean and beautiful.
Summary:
The Edgewater Chamber of Commerce is the Sole Service Provider for Special Service Area (SSA) #26. The Special Service Area Program Coordinator will administer Special Service Area #26 along Broadway and Devon. The SSA is overseen by a Mayorally-appointed commission of local property and business owners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop innovative programs and events that support the businesses and property owners in the SSA
• Engage in creative placemaking as a tool to drive economic activity to SSA businesses and raise the profile of the SSA business district in the City of Chicago and beyond
• Develop and disseminate strategic communication and marketing materials about the SSA business district
• Create the annual budget and work plan in compliance with all City requirements
• Submit the required reporting documentation to the City
• Prepare requests for proposals (RFPs), develop a consultant selection process and make vendor recommendations
• Review all contracts and oversee vendor compliance within the scope of service provided in the contract
• Recruit commissioners to serve on the SSA commission
• Additional duties as assigned

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning or Urban Studies preferred.
