SUMMARY:
Meléndrez, a Los Angeles based landscape architecture, urban design and planning firm is seeking to hire entry-level landscape and urban designers with 1 to 4 years of experience. The position offers growth potential for motivated individuals willing to learn in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary working environment on a variety of project types and scales, including master and strategic plans, urban parks, plazas, streetscapes, civic destinations and urban infill development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare presentations, drawings, design packages, and other project documents, under guidance of project manager.
Work collaboratively with the project team to assist in developing initial conceptual thinking through project delivery and execution, including interdisciplinary coordination and stakeholder engagement.
Create photo realistic renderings, simulations, sections, plans, infographics, and/or 3d modeling using Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, or similar software. High-proficiency required.
DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:
Ability to assist in conceptualizing a project at a large scale and support in developing the project through to detailed resolution.
The ability to think in a multidisciplinary way in the design process in order to consider both the larger urban context and specific site issues.
Design innovation and creativity in solving complex problems.
Awareness of local and national context in the landscape architecture or urban design field. 
Proficiency with graphics software (e.g Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino), AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office.
Excellent verbal, written and graphic communication skills.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Master's or Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or Urban Design or Planning
1-4 years’ experience. Internships may count toward this experience.

More than 8,500 professionals, including architects, engineers, consultants, scientists, planners and construction managers, in over 200 locations worldwide, pool their solutions beyond the scope of traditional A/E/C firms.

The Chicago site design practice seeks a Land Planner / Landscape Coordinator to work with the existing studio to develop planning and landscape architectural projects. The primary land planning responsibilities include development of master plans in collaboration with architects, planners, and other site based disciplines on institutionally-scaled building and campus planning projects. The land planner analyzes municipal zoning and development codes and prepares comparative analyses and design concepts. He/she may collaborate with others on zoning and site plan approvals, public hearings, programming, and design implementation of the master plan.

The landscape architectural role will be to assist in the detailed development of site design projects from concepts through construction documentation. He/she will conduct site visits, analyses and assist in the illustration of the design using hand drawn and computer aided graphics. Working proficiency in Rhino, Grasshopper and VRay is preferred. Experience and use of Adobe Creative Suite, GIS, and AutoCAD is essential.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from an accredited university.

Advanced degrees in landscape architecture and / or urban and regional planning are a plus.

The successful candidate should be on-track for professional registration.

Recent graduates or professionals, 0+ years of design office experience, working on institutionally scaled planning and design projects are preferred.

The successful candidate must have strong landscape architectural skill sets including design, grading and drainage, and construction as a basis for sound land planning, site design, and construction documentation.
