Position Summary
The Research Associate II works within the CCTS's administrative hub to support the execution of the center's research and community outreach and engagement strategies. This position is responsible for disseminating grant related scholarship and research findings through content that simultaneously promotes the work and impact of the CCTS and CCTS-sponsored research projects among the broader scientific community, policymakers, sponsors, the clinical and translational science community and the general public. The Research Associate II will also track engagement and activity across CCTS's digital platforms and interpret analytics to inform overarching strategies that promote research outcome dissemination, increase community engagement and participation, as well as demonstrate impact of research on public health.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the dissemination of impactful health research findings by writing, editing, designing an publishing research content through a variety of platforms and mediums, including the local institutional and national research consortium websites, newsletters, social media, research podcasts scientific presentations and research reports.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to identify and disseminate data‐informed success stories and opportunities for CCTS support through educational, consultative, and funding initiatives.
- Coordinate community and research partner organization outreach, assist in the development of digital and print participant engagement campaigns, create and schedule dissemination of published content, and analyze and report on key metrics
- Support research outreach efforts for collaborative research initiatives and projects, including partnerships with the Chicagoland CTSAs, the Chicago Consortium for Community Engagement, Chicago Department of Public Health, and other community‐based organizations.
- Maintain research project timelines, report on milestone progress, and adjust strategies in response to evaluation outcomes and/or changes in research priorities at the university or CTSA consortium level
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field required.
- A minimum of one year related research experience.
- Knowledge of research concepts, practices and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5 years’ experience in a professional environment engaging with diverse stakeholders including but not limited to students, faculty, research professionals, community and/or industry partners, etc.
- 3 years’ experience in scientific writing and dissemination of scholarly and/or research findings to lay communities
- Knowledge of social media best practice, creation and publishing tools. Familiarity with major social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube. Proficiency in visualization techniques and design tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Garage Band and Canva.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to understand and convey scientific terminology and summarize complex concepts into concise content
- A team player with demonstrated experience in contributing towards collaborations from multiple roles
- A strong commitment to health equity, community engagement, diversity and inclusion.
