Job Description:
Under the direction of the Supervisor, Rapid Transit Program, the Senior Rapid Transit Planner supports the planning and implementation of Pulse and Expressway-based bus rapid transit projects. Participates in and reviews municipal and regional studies that impact corridors targeted for future Rapid Transit lines in Pace's Strategic Vision Plan, Driving Innovation. Applies Pace Transit Supportive Guidelines in review of municipal, comprehensive, and development plans ensuring recommendations are conducive with the implementation of bus rapid transit treatments. Manages studies and coordinates efforts of consultants, internal departments, external stakeholders, and other agencies including CMAP, RTA and counties to support Pace's Rapid Transit Program. Assists with planning and implementation of Rapid Transit projects including reviewing consultant deliverables, siting stations, coordinating with service planning/scheduling, and producing ridership projections, concept plans, presentations, plans, maps, website updates and other visuals. Manages consultant-led studies and administers contracts. Produces grant applications and progress reports for funding agencies. Produces scopes of work, cost estimates, and evaluates vendor proposals. Supports other capital planning efforts under the PPMO for maintenance and passenger facilities related to Rapid Transit projects. Presents program updates to the Pace Board of Directors and Infrastructure and Planning Committees. Assists the Supervisor, Rapid Transit Program as directed and performs other duties as assigned. Work is performed in a professional office environment with the majority of the workday consisting of computer work. Travel to construction and project sites, and travel to meetings in the region is required.

Qualifications:
Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and a bachelor's degree in urban/regional planning, public administration, political science, engineering, or related field; a master's degree and AICP certification is preferred. Must have three years of experience in public transportation planning, strategic planning, capital planning, engineering or related field with grant writing and public involvement experience. Must have two years of experience in project management and contract administration. Must possess and demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Cloud Suite. Must possess and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to lead and work collaboratively in a team environment, and excellent research, reading comprehension, and written and verbal communication skills. Must be highly organized, detail oriented, and be able to work on numerous projects simultaneously and efficiently. Must demonstrate strong public speaking and effective problem-solving skills and maintain confidentiality.
