Development Assistant: Wind Energy & Wind Development Manager (2 positions)

Who: E.ON Climate & Renewables - Origination and Development Team - Chicago office

What: Two positions available - Development Assistant & Wind Development Manager
Development Assistant: Wind Energy - Contribute to the successful development of large scale wind farms from conception through construction by supporting the Development Team in all aspects of the development process. Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate with Development Team to obtain and upload all necessary information required to draft landowner agreements including detailed ownership, land and title information. 
  • Assist Project Managers with budget and scheduling, including the tracking and coordination of project milestones. 
  • Facilitate landowner communication efforts including the development of landowner contacts lists, written communication, meeting preparation, and other outreach. 
  • Provide support in the organization, management, and filing of Development, Procurement, Contractor and HSSE documents. 
  • Assist with the preparation, organization and review of materials for local, state and federal permits as necessary. 
  • Assist Project Managers with landowner support; field requests for information and provide necessary follow up. 
  • Travel to project sites as needed to perform deed research, site reconnaissance, and other tasks. 
  • Assist in the development of PowerPoint presentations and landowner maps using GIS software. 
  • Handle special projects and perform research in support of Development Team as needed.

Wind Development Manager - Responsibilities include:
  • Identify viable sites for wind project development, using knowledge of energy markets, wind, transmission, permitting and environmental issues. 
  • Work Efficiently and effectively to rapidly acquire all land and easements required for a utility scale wind farm. 
  • Manage all wind project development activities on one or more projects, including site identification, land acquisition, interconnection, environmental studies, permitting, title, survey and other real estate matters. Lead and manage all aspects of project development from inception to construction hand-off. 
  • As projects advance in the development process, duties include working with other staff regarding off-take of power, project modeling, project proposals, arrangements for finance, construction and operations, and other matters. 
  • Develop and implement regional departmental objectives, and assist in departmental budgeting process.
