Incorporated in 1989, Laguna Niguel (pop. 65,000) is a premier master-planned community nestled in the coastal foothills of beautiful South Orange County. Laguna Niguel is a thriving, business friendly and family-oriented community and enjoys an exceptional quality of life. The Department is responsible for cur¬rent and advanced planning, building, grading, code enforcement, and CDBG administration and has a total operating budget of $3.9 million. With a staff of 15 full-time and 4 part-time employees, supplemented by 5 full-time contract employees, the Department is involved in maintaining the City’s high development standards, developing the City’s Gateway area, and creating a dynamic and vibrant downtown district on the site of the old County Courthouse. The ideal candidate is an experienced planning professional with a strong commitment to high quality development and excellent customer service. Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, public or business administration, or closely related field is required. Salary range is $135,072 to $168,852, plus generous benefits.
