Sr. Project Administrator
Summary of Duties
Reporting
directly to the Department Head, Grant Administration, the
Senior Project Administrator provides financial management for capital project
implementation, including project tracking and reporting to funding agencies.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements, and represent
Grant Administration staff actions to internal and external auditors. Monitor
and evaluate policies and legislation related to grant management and
accounting. Train Grant Administration staff by assuming a leadership role and
mentoring junior staff. Must be available to work flexible hours in the early
morning, late afternoon, evenings, or weekends.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
§
Bachelors Degree in business, public
administration, accounting, economics, or related discipline.
§
In lieu of education, must have any
combination of education and grant administration or construction management
experience on a year per year basis, FTA capital/grant programs preferred.
§
Minimum of 5 years of work experience in
grant administration or project management, or budgeting/accounting is
required.
§
Database experience required, Oracle system
preferred.
§
Must have working knowledge of federal,
state, and local government agency regulations, guidelines, and requirements
related to grant administration.
§
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written
communication skills.
§
Knowledge of FTA Circular 5010.1D, Grants
Management Requirements preferred.

Legislative Affairs Administrator
Summary of Duties
Reporting directly to the Legislative
Affairs Officer, the Legislative Affairs Liaison performs the role of field
liaison for Metra in areas of community and legislative outreach. Gathers and
disseminates Metra's viewpoints and positions on transit and community issues
to various elected officials. Proactively seeks out and develops strong
relationships with key public and political stakeholders. Must
be available to work flexible hours in the early morning, late afternoon,
evenings, or weekends.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
§ Bachelor's
degree in Political Science, Speech Communication or related discipline OR
in lieu of degree, any combination of education and experience in legislative,
regulatory, or policy capacity that equals four (4) years.
§ Seven
(7) years of direct experience in the areas of public relations, client
relations and liaison work with legislative leaders at the state level.
§ Proficient
in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access) with an emphasis in Excel and
Word.
§ Must
be able to work under pressure in a demanding environment and handle sensitive
and confidential matters with legislative, governmental and corporate
executives.
§ Effective
verbal, written, and inter-personal skills to work with the Board of Directors,
the media and/or other external groups and organizations.

Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Project Manager
Summary of Duties
Reporting directly to the DBE Senior
Director, the DBE Project Manager oversees and manages research, analysis,
planning, development and implementation of special projects for the Office of
Business Diversity and Civil Rights. Provide project oversight (initiation,
planning, design/development and management) and technical expertise with DBE
and Title VI related issues, and establishing timelines. Manage project risks
to proactively identify potential issues. Employ risk mitigation strategies to
minimize impact. Coordinate process for post project review of policies and
procedures employed with a view to improve future projects performance.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
§ Bachelor's
degree in Business Administration or related discipline, OR in lieu of degree,
any combination of education and contract administration and/or project
management experience that equals four (4) years.
§ In addition to #1, must have five (5) years of
contract administration and progressive management experience.
§ Previous experience working with federal, state, and
local agencies.
§ Project management certification is preferred.
§ Review requisitions/requirements for contracts and
services to establish DBE participation goals.
§ Experience with audit reviews, methodology and
practices.
§ Demonstrated proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Access and have math aptitude for statistical calculations..
§ Must be willing to travel within and outside of
Metra’s 6-county region.
§ Must
possess and maintain a valid driver=s
license.
