Who: Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning – Policy & Programming Dept.
What: CMAP is seeking to hire an Assistant Analyst within the agency’s modeling group to focus on the collection, preparation, and analysis of data related to agency research and analysis activities. Examples of projects include: geocoding transportation performance data for use in preparing evaluation metrics, improving the spatial level-of-service accuracy of transportation modeling networks, and analyzing transportation system performance data from modeling tools and other sources. These and other projects assigned are critical to maintaining the quality and integrity of CMAP planning datasets.

Qualified candidates will have a BS in Geography, Planning, Landscape Architecture or similar and 0-3 years of experience. Previously demonstrated written and oral presentation skills preferred. Knowledge of and demonstrated skill in ArcGIS/City Engine and associated databases, InDesign, Photoshop and planning visualization software. Must have knowledge of New Urbanism, Form-Based Codes, general master planning, landscape architecture and urban design concepts and practices and knowledge of Data Collection and Inventory methods. Must be willing to travel for projects as needed. Prior military service is favorable.

Woolpert is looking for a highly motivated planner with 0-3 years for master planning projects for the Department of Defense. Projects would include Area Development Plans and Installation Development Plans that require knowledge and application of Form-Based Codes, LEED and other sustainable planning strategies. Potential office locations are in the St. Louis area or Dayton, OH. Woolpert, Inc. is a leader in the integration of planning/design, technology and geospatial systems. Virginia Tech invites applicants for a professor-of-practice or
tenure-track assistant professor faculty position in its Urban Affairs
and Planning (UAP) program at its campus in Alexandria, Virginia,
located in the Washington DC metropolitan area. We seek candidates who
exhibit exemplary potential in professional service and classroom and
studio-based instruction in urban design, site planning, computer
visualization, and/or physical planning, with strengths in community
outreach and participatory practice. Intersections of these competencies
with issues of multicultural diversity would be particularly favored.
A Master’s or Ph.D. in planning, architecture, landscape architecture or
a related field is required by the start date. Teaching responsibilities
will lie in the UAP graduate program on the Alexandria campus. In
addition, the successful candidate will contribute to the new Urban
Design concentration in the School of Architecture and Design in the
Washington Alexandria Architecture Center.
UAP constitutes one of three academic programs in the School of Public
and International Affairs (SPIA) in Virginia Tech’s College of
Architecture and Urban Studies. The other programs are Public
Administration and Policy and Government and International Affairs. All
three programs operate at both the Alexandria and Blacksburg campuses.
