Individual Giving Associate, Development & Communications - Chicago

Type: Full-Time Position

Pay:  $47,000 - $50,000


Onward Neighborhood House seeks a detail-oriented and ambitious Individual Giving Associate to join our Development and Communications team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about fundraising, building a community of support, and relationship-building, who is eager to support the expansion of our base of individual donors to sustain and grow vital direct-service programs. The Individual Giving Associate will report to and work closely with the Director of Development and Communications to steward, cultivate, and secure institutional funding through foundations, corporations, and other grant-making entities.

Responsibilities:

 

Donor Stewardship

·       Conduct frontline fundraising and cultivate relationships with individual donors.

·       Support major gift cultivation by preparing donor briefings and identifying strategic engagement opportunities.

·       Manage prospect data and track donor stewardship activities to inform engagement strategies.

·       Draft personalized donor communications, including acknowledgment letters.

 

 

Database Management and Administration

·       Maintain accurate donor records in the organization’s CRM system (Neon CRM), ensuring individual giving activity is up to date.

·       Track and analyze individual giving trends and results to inform future strategies.

·       Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings and preparing briefing materials for individual donor engagements.

Events

·       Engage donors to market sponsorships and tickets for fundraising events

·       Support corporate volunteer opportunities through logistical planning and coordination with program staff.

·       Lead the day-of execution of the annual Gala and manage the planning in collaboration with the Director of Development.

Auxiliary Board

·       Support the Aux Board as the primary contact for the Board Chairs.

·       Manage and steward Aux Board members and engage with them, their networks, and companies to generate support for Onward House.

·       Support volunteer opportunities with logistical planning.

Communications

·       Maintain a calendar of program events to share periodically through social media, quarterly newsletter, and other channels.

·       Collect participant success stories to highlight the direct impact of Onward House’s work on community members.

Additional Duties:

  • Attend staff meetings, donor meetings, events, and other meetings as necessary.
  • Maintain knowledge current in field including attendance at seminars, workshops, and in-service training programs annually.
  • Attend monthly supervision meetings with supervisor.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

MUST HAVE

·      Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

·      Minimum of 1 year of experience in nonprofit fundraising. 2+ years preferred.

·      Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM donor management software (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge). Neon CRM experience preferred.

·      English/Spanish bilingual strongly preferred.

·      Excellent marketing and communication skills, tailored to various audiences.

·      Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·      Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

·      Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

·      High level of professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive information.

·      Creative and proactive in identifying and pursuing new fundraising opportunities.

·      The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and eager to learn and grow within our development team.
