Housing Policy Manager - fully remote

Pay:  Salary is $108,000


The Climate and Community Institute is a climate and economy think tank rooted in climate, racial, and class justice. 

We seek a full time Housing & Communities Policy Manager to bolster our capacity for visionary housing research that sets the agenda for green housing policy and supports progressive advocates and organizers. The ideal candidate will have a combination of research, policy, and organizing skills; strong working knowledge of housing, building decarbonization, and climate policy; and interest in working directly with movement partners to build power and advance housing and climate justice together. This position will report to the Housing & Communities Director and sit in CCI’s Research Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development: Work with CCI staff and fellows to set the research and policy agenda for the housing & communities policy portfolio aligned with CCI’s strategic goals.
  • Research & Writing: Conduct research and writing for different audiences, ranging from public officials and movement leaders to a general audience. Research products would range from in-depth research reports and policy briefs to op-eds. 
  • Project Management: Manage a range of projects from ideation to rollout, coordinating with staff, fellows, and external researchers. Coordinate community and peer review processes for all research production to ensure high validity of research content and alignment with movement demands.
  • Coordinate with Fellows & Contractors: Build relationships with CCI’s research fellows and contractors, and work with them on research projects throughout the process.
  • Relationship Building & Media: Build relationships with grassroots activists and organizers, academics and researchers, and policymakers to advance goals. Publicly represent the organization externally and in the media.
