Family Advocacy Outreach Coordinator, DCFS - Chicago, IL

 

Essential Functions

The Illinois Department of Children &Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Cook County/Northern Region Family Advocacy Center Outreach Coordinator. Subject to Management approval, this position will plan, conceptualize, monitor, and coordinate the Departments outreach activities for Family Advocacy Centers (FAC) with assigned regions. The position will monitor program services provided to children and families who are Department involved and receiving community-based services to ensure Department policies and procedures are effectively and consistently implemented. The position will also conduct contract compliance, program monitoring, and/or fiscal management reviews of assigned providers to ensure compliance with contract terms & address program plan performance outcomes. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is interested in playing a role in ensuring the quality of services provided to children and youth.   • Serves as Cook County/Northern Region Family Advocacy Center Outreach Coordinator.
  • Serves as liaison to Family Advocacy Centers with assigned regions.
  • Conducts contract compliance program monitoring, and/or fiscal management reviews of assigned providers to ensure compliance with contract terms and to address program plan performance.
  • Attends, conducts, and/or participates in various meetings, community events, and work groups as assigned.
  • Maintains and enters complex information and systems of data collection, to ensure that provider reports, annual audits, and narrative reports are submitted within timeframes indicated in the program plan. 
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • knowledge, skill, mental development equivalent to completion of a Masters degree. 
  • requires two years of progressively responsible professional experience in community organization, social service work, or in program planning and development.

Conditions of Employment

1. Requires a valid Drivers License, daily access to an automobile, and proof of vehicle insurance. 

2. Requires ability to pass a background check.
