Climate Education Research Analyst - Climate Educators Network

 Position: Climate Education Research Analyst

Location: Remote

Duration: 60 Days (45 Days for submission + 15 Days for review)

Background

This project focuses on the integration of climate and environmental education in school

curricula which is needed for preparing future generations to tackle environmental challenges.

The research will examine educational, policy and curricular reforms at both national and state

levels in India focusing on some key states - West Bengal, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, and

possibly Karnataka and Jharkhand.

Objectives

● Analyze educational discourse with a focus on key drivers and barriers in implementing

climate education reforms at national and state levels.

● Identify common themes and differences in approaches between national and state

policies.

Scope of Work

The Analyst will conduct secondary research that will include:

● Reviewing national and state-level policy including white papers and official statements.

● Analyzing media coverage and public opinion reports.

● Accessing information through RTI filings, if required.

● Mapping policy gaps and assessing alignment with climate and environmental education

goals.

Responsibilities

● Conduct literature reviews and data analysis on relevant educational reforms.

● Draft concise reports and policy briefs with recommendations for key stakeholders.

● Assist in preparing a comprehensive final report consolidating research findings.

● Participate in regular progress discussions with the Lead Researcher.

Deliverables

● Initial Findings Summary: A preliminary report on progress and insights.

● Comprehensive Report: Detailed findings (best practices, gaps) and recommendations.

● Policy Briefs: Targeted recommendations for state and national stakeholders


Expected Outcomes


● Clear insights into climate and environmental education in Indian educational reforms.

● Identification of key trends, challenges, and best practices.

● Strategic recommendations for key stakeholders

Qualifications

● Current students or graduates in education, environmental studies, public policy, or a

related field.

● Strong research, analytical, and communication skills.

● Research experience is good to have

● Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

● Familiarity with Indian education policy and environmental issues is a plus but not

mandatory

Compensation

This position offers competitive remuneration. Specific details regarding the amount and

schedule will be discussed during the interview process.
