Project Coordinator {Environmental, Family Connects Lead & Healthy Homes, Facilities and Administration}

Department of Public Health

Number of Positions: 6 (2 (two) Permanent, 4 (four) Limited Funded Grant*)

“Four of these six positions are funded through a grant and this employment opportunity is contingent on the availability and continuation of the grant supporting this position. Under general supervision, the class coordinates the administration, development and implementation of a specific project or program moderate in size and scope for a City department; and performs related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Environmental:

Assists inspection and citation review, supports fee evaluation for liquid waste and construction and demolition debris facilities, and coordinates other projects.

Family Connects Lead & Healthy Homes:

Coordinator to oversee qualification of eligible applicants and units, oversee contracts and monitor spending and performance.

Administration:

Manage grant reporting, review contracts, and assist in contract execution.

Facilities:

Responsible for assisting the Director of Administrative Services by providing support in the planning and execution of relocating CDPH Staff in both new and pre-existing facilities. Ensuring all administrative processes and or procedures are adhered to in both a timely and efficient manner. Providing support to the other CDPH Site locations as needed or requested to do so. Providing support on fleet related matters as needed.

Additional duties may be required for this position.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALFICATIONS:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration, Social Sciences, Planning or a related field, supplemented by three years of progressively responsible experience in program administration, or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS

This position requires applicants to complete an interview which will include a writing exercise and/or a skills assessment test as part of the interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral and written parts of the interview will be selected.

Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:

  • Previous project management work experience.
  • Previous work experience with budgeting and or invoicing and or record keeping.
  • Previous work experience in the administration of a Public Health program
  • Previous grant management work experience.
  • Previous work experience in role involving reducing racial and health inequities for communities of color.
  • Previous community or partner engagement experience.
  • Previous work experience in office technology including virtual meeting platforms and SharePoint.
