Position Objectives

The Village of South Elgin is seeking a professional and qualified candidate for the position of Planner in the Community Development Department.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position focuses on planning and zoning project management work for the Village.  In addition, this position will assist the Director of Community Development with all activities related to the Planning and Zoning Commission and a variety of community development projects.

Minimum Requirements

Qualified applicants should possess a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university, majoring in Urban Planning, Geography, Public Administration or related field; one to four years experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desirable Training and Experience

Applicant should have working knowledge and understanding of ArcGIS and other analytic tools.  Applicant should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to work a flexible schedule.
