Assistant Program Director in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Chicago

The UIC College of Pharmacy seeks an Assistant Program Director in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI).  Diversity connotes recognition of the variety of ways of being and thinking; values each individual as unique and equal, recognizes individual, group, and organizational differences, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, disabilities, and beliefs, and are represented in all facets of the College’s education and experiences to ensure a College climate that promotes the well-being and success of all. Under the direction of the Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion the assistant program director will focus primarily on collaboration with College of Pharmacy students, faculty, staff and administrators on innovative approaches to advance diversity within the college and advocates for a college culture that promotes inclusiveness and a commitment to maintaining a college climate where all can strive for excellence.  

The Assistant Program Director responsibilities include but are not limited to supervising the activities of the ODI strategic plan subcommittees, college tutoring program, language and communication program and community engagement plan and reporting; advising the associate Dean on the development and preparation for the ODI budget; Interview, advises, counsels, and gives general assistance and direction to student program leadership on programs related to the college goals and objectives as they support diversity and inclusion; Evaluates the effectiveness of the Colleges diversity initiative and its alignment with the goals and mission of the college and campus against benchmarks and metrics and tracks community engagement activities of faculty/staff/students;  Plans ODI workshops; Represents the college on relevant college/campus committees and serves as a liaison to college and administrative units for the purpose of deepening the understanding of global diversity, inclusion and inclusive excellence.
