Job Description
We are now hiring Assistant to the President. It is a position that encompasses various projects related to public relations and fund- raising. It is a wonderful opportunity for someone who wants to advance their professional skills as well as networks with NPOs and businesses in the Chicago area. The Assistant to President assists the President with a wide range of responsibilities which include:

Communicates the functions of the Agency to the community through direct involvement with public, civic or private groups.
  •   Maintains frequent relations with high-level professional and administrative personnel in social services, media, corporate and foundations, government agencies and private donors for promotion of overall Agency.
  •   Responds to inquiries from Board members, Agency executives, local and national organizations and the general public with accuracy and professionalism. Maintains knowledge of such individuals, outside groups, and the Agency to facilitate efficient working relationships and effective rapport.
  •   In the absence of the President, may make significant decisions as they relates to public relations and internal control.
  •   Reviews and makes recommendations on information significant to the operation of the Agency’s total administration.
  •   Prepares research and speeches for the President.
  •   Maintains knowledge of CASL to facilitate efficient working relationships with the Asian Pacific American community.
  •   Prepares and/or composes a variety of internal and external correspondence.
  •   Records, transcribes and edits minutes of the Board of Directors, Board committees, annual meetings and special ad hoc committees.
  •   Provides for the President fundamental support activities such as coordination of calendar and scheduling of requests for consultation, arrangements for travel, preparation of monthly expense reports and travel vouchers.
Job Requirements
This is a position that requires the consistent exercise of discretion and judgment, as the Assistant to President independently undertakes a variety of projects and assignments related to public relations, fund-raising and administrative data control. He/she has to be familiar with management policies and general business operations of the Agency in order to provide leadership and direction to specific Agency functions. Other requirements include:
  •   A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science from an accredited college or university
  •   A minimum of three years of administrative experience
  •   Excellent writing skills, computer literacy and communication skills
  •   Ability to speak, read, and write Chinese is preferred, but not required
