The Staff Planner will work with municipal, regional and state government agencies on multiple complex transportation planning assignments; conduct research, prepare statistical reports and engage in public involvement activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Transportation plans and studies
  • Traffic analysis and engineering
  • Parking studies
  • Prepare technical studies and reports
  • Field investigations of infrastructure, land use and transportation
  • Complete Streets assessments
  • Conduct research and prepare statistical reports on demographic, social and economic issues
  • Economic analysis
  • Environmental and regulatory compliance, permitting and management
  • Prepare presentations
  • Public engagement activities
  • Prepare maps and figures to illustrate transportation issues
  • Prepare graphic illustrations of street improvements

Requires a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning, Geography or Transportation Engineering or equivalent level of experience and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience which may include applicable internships. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with or ability to learn computer aided design, Synchro traffic; Geographic Information System, In Design, or Adobe Creative Suite Package software. Knowledge of non-motorized transportation systems and creating complete streets.
