The School of Public Health Office of Research Services, Office of the Dean, is seeking to fill the position of Pre-Awards Sponsored Projects Specialist immediately. This position performs professional level pre-awards duties on complex, global, and/or multidisciplinary research proposal applications for Principal Investigators (PI) in the School of Public Health’s academic divisions/programs/centers. The individual will manage multiple proposal submissions which include interpreting funding opportunity announcements (FOA); serving as pre-awards subject matter expert on federal, campus, and  college policies; creating budgets; problem-solving proposal submission issues; creating  proposal related  resources, and ensure that applications are completed according to sponsor requirements. The individual will also teach new investigators (faculty, doctoral students, and postdoctoral fellows) principles of grantsmanship in regularly scheduled workshops.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree required in Health Science or related field preferred; with at least five years of current pre-awards development experience in a discipline related to public health, or a Master’s Degree with academic coursework in grant proposal development.

Certifications as a Certified Research Administrator, Certified Pre Awards Research Administrator, or Certification in Project Management preferred.

Detailed knowledge of grantsmanship principles, electronic proposal submission requirements, and federal regulations and guidelines that govern the conduct of research such as OMB Circular A-21, A-133 and HHS/ PHS Policies.

Excellent independent judgment, decision-making,  communication, teaching, and organizational skills.

Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite and Acrobat Professional
