Who: Chicago Transit Authority
What: Under general supervision, develops and manages a comprehensive data-driven approach to monitoring transit service levels in order to identify where, when, and how operating efficiencies and service improvements can be attained. Collects, manipulates, and analyzes ridership and operations data to support CTA’s decision-making processes. The Planner will also consider impacts from external factors such as shifting demographics and development patterns, and will evaluate major route changes for Title VI and Environmental Justice implications.

Senior Planner, Freight - Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning
Who: The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) is our region’s comprehensive planning organization. The agency and its partners are developing ON TO2050, a new long-range comprehensive regional plan to help the seven counties and 284 communities of northeastern Illinois implement strategies that address transportation, housing, economic development, open space, the environment, and other quality-of-life issues. What: The Senior Planner will be responsible for management, oversight, and implementation of CMAP’s forthcoming Truck Routing and Community Studies, a project to investigate truck mobility and investment needs in three of the region’s industrial and logistics clusters. As North America’s freight hub, northeastern Illinois experiences large amounts of truck movement, with significant impacts on the region’s economy, as well as local congestion, safety, and quality of life. The project will focus on improving truck routing across jurisdictions, in addition to addressing local permitting processes, delivery management, and community impacts as appropriate to the cluster. Throughout the project, the planner will be expected to emphasize the recommendations of ON TO 2050. Responsibilities:

Planner, Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District - Urbana, IL
PLANNER
The Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District is looking for a Planner. The Planner assists Service Delivery with route planning, route analysis, and communication with the public. This position also assists Special Services Manager with operations and planning of ADA service and rural transit. Expected to communicate daily with MTD Supervisors, Operators, and Trainers about a variety of issues including reroutes, work schedules, weather, and complaints. This is a salaried, exempt position. A Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a work setting, preferably a planning or transportation organization, is preferred. Prior experience in supervising and directing employees is preferred.
